Recommended Action
Authorize amendment of the fiscal year 2021-22 Equipment List to add one (1) solar-powered back-up power bank/generator equipment for multiple locations of the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency for response during long-term power outages including support to Department Operations Center response and functions and two (2) radios to be deployed to multiple locations of the Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency including the Department Operations Center in the event of an emergency for staff communication and emergency operation coordination.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency – Emergency Preparedness Program received a total of $222,895 from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP, CFDA 93.069) allocation for the period July 1, 2021 thru June 30, 2022. CDPH has approved utilizing $15,709 of this allocation to fund the purchase and installation of solar-powered back-up power bank/generator equipment as well as $27,050 to fund the purchase and programming of radios. The solar-powered back-up power bank equipment is necessary for Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency to respond during long-term power outages including support of the Department Operations Center as well as assisting medical surge alternative care site operations.The radios are a necessity for constant communication during an emergency between staff and Department Operations Center response teams to effectively coordinate operations throughout the event response.
The funds are currently budgeted in Services & Supplies and will be moved to the Equipment Asset expenditure account for these purchases.
