Approve first amendment to the work authorization under Agreement No. 20-114 with Kitchell to increase the amount by $70,000, not to exceed the amount of $220,000 for additional construction management services for the Yolo Branch Library project and extend the expiration date to December 31, 2022. (No general fund impact) (Yarris)

Recommended Action

  1. Approve first amendment to the work authorization under Agreement No. 20-114 with Kitchell to increase the amount by $70,000, not to exceed the amount of $220,000 for additional construction management services for the Yolo Branch Library project; and
     
  2. Extend the expiration date to December 31, 2022.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

The County has been working on the replacement of the Yolo Library for several years. As we near completion of the project this Fall, there is a need to continue the existing construction management services for oversight of construction of the new facility and project closeout.  The original contract was an estimate as a placeholder until the full schedule and scope were known.   Based on staff’s estimate of the remaining time needed, the additional $70,000 will complete the project management services related to the construction schedule for the Yolo Library.

Competitive Bid Process/Vendor Performance

On-Call contracts were solicited and reviewed in compliance with Department of Financial Services policies and procedures. Contracts were approved by the Board of Supervisors in June 2020. Board approval of this work authorization is required because the total compensation (FY21/22) will exceed $100,000.
