Recommended Action
Approve 15 youth commissioners (3 per district) appointed by Yolo County Office of Education, Program Specialist Drucella Miranda.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo Youth Commission was initially presented to the Board of Supervisors on May 10th, 2022. The recommended actions presented on May 10th, 2022 were as follows:
Yolo County Office of Education Program Supervisor, Drucella Miranda, is heading the Yolo Youth Commission. This two-year pilot youth commission program is a partnership between the Yolo County Office of Education and Yolo County. This commission has three (3) residents per district ranging from 13 to 18 years of age, for a total of 15 youth. The youth reside in one of the five (5) Supervisorial Districts of Yolo County. Applicants were nominated, referred, or self-applied and went through a rigorous interview and selection process. The selected youth will be the first cohort to take part in a request for proposals (RFP) to fund youth initiatives and program development. The recommended youth to be appointed are contained in attachment A. The attachment highlights the student's basic information as well as their personal response to the question "What are some of the key issues you see youth in Yolo face?"
- Adopt resolution establishing the Yolo Youth Commission as a 2-year pilot program; and
- Approve and authorize the Interim County Administrator or designee to sign the Grant Funding Agreement with Yolo County Office of Education for $400,000 to administer the Yolo County Youth Commission.
