Reason for Recommended Action/Background

This Board approved allocating American Rescue Plan funds to the City of West Sacramento for the Bryte Park improvement project.  Bryte Park is an existing 34.4 acre community park in the north area of the city and is currently undergoing planning efforts to renew the park.  Some of the proposed improvements include ADA improvements, a new dog park, a new all-weather soccer field plus additional 14 soccer field renovations, walking loop and additional pathway improvements, a new adult softball complex, and a public plaza.  The Board approved this allocation on April 12, 2022 and an additional amount on May 24, 2022 for a total of $2,490,273.

This agreement will allow the City to access the funds to obtain architectural and engineering services for improvements and enhancements to Bryte Park.  This will allow the City to achieve a goal of issuing a competitive solicitation in the summer of 2024 with construction commencing in late 2024.
