Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Execution of this updated master agreement is required for the County to remain eligible to receive State transportation funding.
The last master agreement with Caltrans for State-funded projects was approved by the Board of Supervisors on May 31, 2016. This new agreement is an update to the previous master agreement, incorporating changes in State rules regarding locally administered transportation projects. It is required prior to the County proceeding with any new State-funded projects.
Execution of this agreement is needed currently as a level of approval to obtain the State funding granted to the County for the Highway Safety Improvement Project Cycle 11 funding for the County Road 102 Bike and Safety Improvement Project ($783,540), which is planned to be designed in 2024.
