Reason for Recommended Action/Background
As requested by the Board, this workshop will review major water resource management and ecosystem efforts in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Yolo Bypass that are impacting (or have the potential to impact) Yolo County, including through the conversion of farmland. Staff will provide an overview of several key projects and ongoing policy and regulatory efforts, including:
- Sites Reservoir
- Yolo Bypass Comprehensive Study (Army Corps of Engineers)
- Delta Conveyance Project
- Bay-Delta Plan Update and Voluntary Agreements (now referred to as "Healthy Rivers and Landscapes")
- Yolo Bypass Master Plan
- Various ecosystem restoration projects
Staff will also provide the context (economic, environmental, and regulatory) for these initiatives and describe how they contribute to addressing state objectives for increasing water supply reliability, restoring the ecosystem and native species, and improving water management (including flood protection). Staff welcomes Board participation and direction as well as participation from the public.

This workshop is a collaborative effort between staff in the County Administrator's Office and County Counsel.
