Subject

Create ad hoc subcommittee of the Board of Supervisors and appoint Supervisors Vixie Sandy and Chair Frerichs to provide advice and guidance regarding the Historic Courthouse Capital Project Planning; and a community advisory committee to provide feedback on the restoration and use of the historic courtroom and adjacent hallway. Recommended Action

  1. Create ad hoc subcommittee of the Board of Supervisors and appoint Supervisors Vixie Sandy and Chair Frerichs to be subcommittee members to provide advice and guidance regarding the Historic Courthouse Capital Project Planning; and
     
  2. Create a community advisory committee and appoint Supervisors Vixie Sandy and Chair Frerichs to be Board Liaisons to provide feedback on the restoration and use of the historic courtroom and adjacent hallway.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

At the Board's September 24, 2024 meeting, the Board of Supervisors directed staff to return at a future Board meeting with proposed scopes for the creation of an ad hoc committee to provide advice and guidance relating to the Historic Courthouse Capital Project Planning effort, and to establish a community advisory committee to provide feedback on the restoration and use of the historic courtroom, adjacent hallway, and third floor landing. Both subcommittees would have an initial duration of about nine months, subject to extension at or near the end of the current fiscal year.
