Reason for Recommended Action/Background

Fire Sustainability Background
The Fire District Sustainability Funding Plan Implementation Procedures were approved by Yolo County Board of Supervisors on September 26, 2023. Under the policy, the following must be met:
  • Each Fire Protection District receiving Fire District Sustainability funds must submit an annual performance report to demonstrate the results and benefits achieved from the financial assistance.
  • Performance reports detailing the prior fiscal year’s accomplishments shall be due to the County Administrator’s Office by July 31 of each year.
  • The County Administrator’s Office will compile and provide the performance reports to the Board of Supervisors for review and consideration.
  • Any Fire Protection District that does not submit an annual performance report by the required deadline will be suspended from eligibility for either matching funds or one-time grants in the subsequent fiscal year.
