Reason for Recommended Action/Background
To improve road maintenance service response in the southeastern portion of Yolo County, the Public Works Division has been working to reopen the Clarksburg Shed property located at 51230 Clarksburg Road (APN 043-160-043). The efforts to improve the property include upgrading the electrical service panel to current building code standards and restoring power to the site.
Staff will use the property for storing road maintenance equipment and materials in the more remote area of Clarksburg in District 1, and provide a much-needed satellite office and restroom facility for staff in that area. The facility has not been in use for several years, so it has taken some investment to restore the property to a safe and functioning tool for our Road Maintenance team.
The attached budget resolution is needed to increase the budget for this effort, which will be derived from the Road Fund. Such appropriations are authorized with a four-fifths vote of the Board of Supervisors pursuant to Government Code section 29125.
