As a result of an Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund offer to provide an amount of up to $50,000 to match local county funding for election outreach, the Board of Supervisors provided initial outreach funding of $25,000 in the 2023-24 adopted budget for the March 2024 primary with the plan to revisit the second half of the matching payment at either mid-year or as part of the next fiscal year's recommended budget. Due to various factors, the Election Office was able to provide the second match within its budget allocation later that year, which was used for the General election outreach efforts. The $50,000 in local funds that the Haas Jr. Fund matched via the Yolo Community Foundation doubled the funds the election office was able to use to initiate innovative outreach efforts highlighted. Yolo and San Mateo Counties were the only two counties in the state funded to do this voter outreach work and will be highlighted at a statewide conference later this month along with a comprehensive report commissioned by the Haas Jr. Fund. The following presentation is an overview of activities achieved in Yolo County during the 2024 elections and our plans for the 2026 election cycle.
