Reason for Recommended Action/Background
It is the collective professional opinion of the Yolo County multidisciplinary Interagency Placement Committee that specific youth require the type of specialized treatment that is available through the UC Davis Child and Adolescent Abuse Resource and Evaluation (CAARE) Center to address trauma and sexualized behaviors. In consulting with the CAARE Center, a psychological evaluation is highly recommended to inform further service delivery. The Yolo County Juvenile Court has also ordered Yolo County Child Welfare Service to obtain a psychological evaluation. The service that is being requested is for an evaluation through a CAARE Center psychologist that will fulfill both needs. Child Welfare Services may be out of compliance with the court order to provide a psychological evaluation and the youth would not receive needed services if the recommended action is not approved by the BOS.
Staff recommends approval of this amendment which will allow for the continuation of these vital services.

No general funds are required by this action. These services will be funded by Active Supportive Intervention Services for Transition (ASIST). The action increases the contract maximum by $13,500 for a total of $18,000 for the period of November 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022. The amount of $13,500 is included in the HHSA adopted budget for FY 2021-22.
