Reason for Recommended Action/Background

In the Spring of 2020, General Services arrived at a tentative negotiated price for the purchase of the Child Support Services Building located at 100 West Court Street Woodland, CA. This facility predominantly houses Child Support Services operations; however, it also has an unoccupied second floor that is being remodeled to house the Department of Innovation and Technology Services (ITS).

The Department of General Services requested an assessment on nine HVAC units on the building of which two are non-operational and three are in critical need of replacement.  These units operate 365 days all day due units being on a heat pump system. The units have a life cycle of 10-15 years; these units are between 20-27 years old. The other four will need to be replaced in the next 2-3 years for which the department will budget accordingly.

General Services is requesting accumulated capital outlay (ACO) funds in the amount of $65,300 for replacement of five HVAC units which includes the crane for installation.
