Accept the Yolo County Certified Statement of Vote Results for the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election and appoint an Esparto Community Services District member to their board of directors in-lieu of conducting an election. (No general fund impact) (Salinas)
Recommended Action
- Accept the certified results of the Yolo County June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election;
- Approve and file the attached Certificate of Facts, indicating the number of persons who filed a declaration of candidacy for the Esparto Community Services District does not exceed the number of offices to be filled at the election for governing board member; and
- Appoint Nicholas Harden to the Esparto Community Services District board of directors to fill the remainder of the term for the vacant office.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
California Elections Code Section 15372 requires the county elections official to prepare and submit a certified statement of vote of the election results to the County Governing Body (Board of Supervisors) within 30 days of the election. The Assessor/County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters certified the results of the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
The Certificate of Facts includes the results of the Esparto Community Services District Special Election, pursuant to Board Minute Order No. 22-15 wherein this Board approved the consolidation of the Esparto Community Services District Special Election with the Statewide Direct Primary Election conducted on June 7, 2022.
This recommended action approves the Yolo County June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election results and completes the procedure for an appointment in-lieu of election due to insufficient nominees for the June 7, 2022, Statewide Direct Primary Election.
The Certificate of Facts includes the results of the Esparto Community Services District Special Election, pursuant to Board Minute Order No. 22-15 wherein this Board approved the consolidation of the Esparto Community Services District Special Election with the Statewide Direct Primary Election conducted on June 7, 2022.
