Recommended Action
- Authorize the Director of General Services to enter into a contract with Best Contracting Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $313,919 for the Central Library Roof Overlay Project; and
- Authorize the Director of General Services to amend the construction contract with Best Contracting Services, Inc. up to an additional $31,391.90 should amendments be required by the scope of the project.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
In order to ensure safe ongoing operations at the Central Library Building located at 226 Buckeye Street in Woodland, overlay to the existing roof is required. The existing roof is at the end of life and General Services has received repeated calls over the years for roof leaks.
On May 10, 2023, a request for proposal was advertised for the overlay roof project. Three responses were received on June 15, 2023, with Best Contracting Services, Inc. successfully earning the contract. The contract issued to Best Contracting Services, Inc. is for the dollar amount identified in the response to the request for proposal which is the not-to-exceed amount of $313,919 (Att.A). The Director of General Services would be authorized to amend the contract with Best Contracting Services, Inc up to additional $31,919.90 should amendments be required by the scope of the project.
