Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) was established in 1915 through the Smith-Lever Act, a cooperative agreement between the Department of Agriculture (USDA), the University of California (UC) and County Governments. UCCE has been serving the public in Yolo County for over 100 years and is the primary access for local residents to the resources of the University of California. UCCE’s mission is to develop and share research-based knowledge to assist in solving problems related to agriculture, natural resource management, youth development, nutrition and health, and family and consumer sciences. This presentation will focus on updates and developments within the 4-H Youth Development Program within Yolo County.
