Recommended Action

Approve agreement with Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center in the amount of $494,231.63 for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2029 for the provision of Trauma Center Level II Hospital Designation.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

This is a fee-based revenue agreement, where the County will designate Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center a 9-1-1 Level II Trauma Receiving center for County residents. As defined in Health and Safety Code, a local emergency medical services agency designated trauma center is a licensed hospital, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, which has been designated as a Level I, II, III, or IV trauma center, in accordance with Articles 2 through 5 of this Chapter. This is part of the local emergency medical services agency trauma system that includes policies and/or procedures to assure compliance of the trauma system.

No general funds are required by this action. These services will provide revenue for the EMS General Fund. The total amount of this action is $494,231.63 for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2029. The amount of $91,248.56 is included in the HHSA recommended budget for fiscal year 2024-25. The related funding will be included in the requested budget process for future fiscal years.
