Operational Excellence |
Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The County's Road Division Offices were constructed in 1969 and are in need of modernization. The original scope included some interior improvements to the building. Upon project review, General Services recommended, and Community Services concurred, that additional design work could help achieve additional operational efficiencies. The revised scope includes additional facility improvements to enhance the building envelope to improve ventilation and cooling, improve building functionality, create a training room, and add a carport to protect the west side of the building and related vehicles from the sun. These changes modify the original scope of work and increase the cost of the work authorization to above $100,000 for the project, thus necessitating Board of Supervisors' approval of the revised scope. The original scope was $59,600 and the new amount is $109,041 in total.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
The General Services Department collaborated with the Department of Community Services.
