Reason for Recommended Action/Background

The first proposed ad hoc subcommittee would provide advice and guidance to staff relating to the 500 Jefferson Boulevard campus, including the current space lease with CommuniCare Ole and existing County department uses. The objective of the subcommittee is to support long-term planning for the campus and County service needs in West Sacramento, taking into account projected population growth and evolving community needs. The second subcommittee would provide feedback to staff on the existing property tax deferral program (approved on October 24, 2023) and related issues arising in connection with the special assessment for the Washington Unified School District. Both subcommittees would have an initial duration of about nine months, subject to extension at or near the end of the current fiscal year.

More information on each subcommittee is included in each attachment.
