Reason for Recommended Action/Background

The County commissioned an assessment of all the roofs of county-owned facilities to identify and prioritize deferred roof maintenance.  A multi-year plan to address the roofs was developed and began last fiscal year (FY23/24).  During this fiscal year, the roofs prioritized for repair based on the assessment are 500A Jefferson Boulevard in West Sacramento, the Historic Courthouse in Woodland, and the Juvenile Detention Facility in Woodland.  Plans and specifications are complete and ready for board approval for 500A Jefferson Boulevard. This roof has reached its end of life and needs replacement. This project will replace the roof and make various safety improvements on the roof.

The Board is requested to approve the plans and specifications for the 500A Jefferson Boulevard roof so that County staff can commence with the competitive solicitation effort.  Staff will return to the Board for approval of the contract with the best apparent bidder from the competitive solicitation.
