Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The requested isolation chambers are needed to protect first responders and the community when transporting patients with suspected or confirmed highly infectious diseases, like Ebola, to a proper medical facility for treatment. Approving the addition of these two isolation chambers to the 2023-24 Equipment List will authorize the purchase of these chambers from Curtis Blue Line consistent with the quote included in Att. A. Isolation Chamber Quote.

No general funds are required by this action. These funds were previously approved for the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget. This action identifies how the previously approved funds will be applied to purchase the two isolation chambers for the Emergency Medical Services & Emergency Preparedness Department, and amends the approved Equipment List to include the isolation chambers.
