Authorize the Director of General Service to enter into a contract with Diablo Roofing, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $605,000 for the 500 Jefferson Blvd. Bldg. A West Sacramento, California Roof Project; and authorize the Director of General Services to approve change orders or amend the construction contract with Diablo Roofing, Inc. consistent with the applicable change order limits of the Public Contract Code, but not to exceed a cumulative total of $60,500. (No general fund impact) (Pistochini)

The County is in a multi-year roof replacement and rehabilitation program.  The General Services Department recommends approval of a complete roof replacement for 500 Jefferson, Bldg. A, in West Sacramento to ensure the safe and ongoing County operations at this site. The West Sacramento Building A at 500 Jefferson plays a vital role in providing social services, probation services, and serves as a Board of Supervisors district office. The roof is deteriorating and prone to leaks each winter.  The ongoing roof issues have led to increased maintenance costs and frequent service calls for leak repairs. A full roof replacement is essential to address these problems, ensuring long-term functionality, the safety of the building’s occupants, and the continuity of the vital services provided to the community since the existing roof has reached its end of life. 

The plans and specifications were approved by the Board of Supervisors on October 22, 2024.  The project will commence in March 2025 when the wet weather season passes.
