Reason for Recommended Action/Background

See Attachment A for changes to the Authorized Position and Salary Resolution.

See Attachment B for the proposed side letter agreement with the Yolo County Deputy Sheriff's Association. Staff proposes to amend the Memorandum of Understanding between the County and the Yolo County Deputy Sheriff's Association via side letter to update the POST and education special compensation language to conform with CalPERS' requirements regarding the same. These special compensation categories were approved by the Board on July 11, 2023. No new compensation will be provided to employees; rather, these changes are being made to ensure that previously provided employee special compensation meets CalPERS' pensionable requirements.
