Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Measles outbreaks are occurring in other states and countries, putting Yolo County residents at risk of infection during travel. Vaccination provides safe and long-lasting protection against measles. Winter respiratory virus season continues through April 30. COVID-19 activity remains low and seasonal influenza virus activity has declined significantly since peaking in February. Avian influenza activity in California has slowed, with no new human cases reported since mid-January.
