Reason for Recommended Action/Background
A resolution is required annually with each Transportation Development Act (TDA) claim submittal in order to receive funds. Although there is no calendar deadline to submit the application, it is advantageous to proceed quickly in order to receive the funds in a timely manner. Each year the County is required to submit a claim to SACOG to receive funding made available by the State of California Transportation Development Act. The attached claim reflects the amount of 1/4-cent sales tax funds to be made available to Yolo County in FY2024-2025 for transit and street and roads purposes.
Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
Each incorporated city adopts its own Transportation Development Act (TDA) claim for the source of TDA funds and is therefore not included with the County's claim. Transit services addressed in the attached claim are administered by the Yolo County Transportation District.

Further explanation as needed:
The Yolo County Transportation District (YCTD) final budget for FY2024-2025 allocates $2,599,345 for the Local Transportation Fund (LTF) to the Department of Community Services, Public Works Fund. LTF allocations are based on 1/4 cents of the general sales tax collected statewide. In addition, YCTD allocated $383,373 of the State Transit Assistance (STA) to the Department of Community Services, Transit Fund. STA funds are derived from a statewide tax on diesel fuel and are allocated based on a formula.
