Reason for Recommended Action/Background
211 Yolo plays a critical role in connecting Yolo County residents, particularly those in rural, underserved, and high-need communities, to vital health, human, and social services. As a free, confidential, and multilingual resource available 24/7, 211 Yolo serves as an essential public access point for information on housing assistance, food resources, mental health services, disaster response, and more. For many residents who face barriers such as limited transportation, digital access challenges, or language differences, 211 Yolo is often the first and most accessible touchpoint to county and community-based services.
Given its central role in the county’s safety net system, it is important for the Board of Supervisors to remain informed about the operational performance, strategic direction, and service delivery outcomes of 211 Yolo. The presentation will provide a high-level operational snapshot of how 211 Yolo is currently functioning, including call volumes, service trends, and key demographics of those being served. The presentation will also share key performance indicators and community impact data that demonstrate the program’s effectiveness, responsiveness, and alignment with county priorities such as emergency preparedness, and public health access; highlight upcoming initiatives, such as technology upgrades, expanded partnerships, and enhancements in multilingual support and referral tracking systems; identify current funding sources, resource gaps, and opportunities for collaboration across county departments.
