Strategic Plan Goal(s)

Thriving Residents

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

On July 25, 2023, the Board of Supervisors set aside $500,000 for the Community Benefit Equal Allocation Plan. The Plan equally allocated a portion of that funding to each of the five supervisorial districts, allowing each Supervisor to provide grants to local Community-Based Organizations (CBO) operating within their districts. The Board approved the plan at that meeting, further augmenting the funding to $750,000. On June 4, 2024, the Board approved an additional $25,000 per supervisorial district and increased the total amount to $875,000.

A brief description of the funding proposal follows:

NAMIYolo
This Community Benefit Grant would provide $2,500 from District 2 to NAMIYolo.
NAMIWalks is NAMI’s oldest signature fundraiser and it enters 2025 as one of the nation’s Top 30 Peer-to-Peer events for the fourth straight year. Over 160 community Walks are presented by NAMI State Organizations and NAMI Affiliates from coast to coast. United by unique experiences, journeys and stories, NAMIWalks is a beautiful celebration of individuals with mental illness, their family, their loved ones, their community.

Funds raised directly support NAMI Yolo County’s mission of education, advocacy, support and public awareness.

A $2,500 Silver Sponsor investment in the NAMIWalks event in Woodland on September 27, 2025 will support NAMIYolo in continuing their support of people who count on them to keep going in their lives: the free, top-rated programs, the friendly and focused guidance, and the awareness they spread in our community and around the country.
