Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County District Attorney's Office has been receiving the Child Advocacy Center Program grant since FY2017-2018.
Per countywide protocol, all child sexual abuse cases are sent to Cameron's Place (formerly known as the Multi-Disciplinary Interview Center (MDIC)), which is Yolo County's Children's Advocacy Center, for review. All referrals are eligible for advocacy, outreach, and therapy.
This grant provides dedicated and job-specific positions to focus on forensic interviews with child victims and program development, which includes improved communication with partner agencies, protocol updates, regular review of cases, and changes necessary to remain in compliance with the national standards.
This grant funds two positions, Forensic Interview Specialist and Social Worker.
