Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The General Services Department requests approval to amend the 2025-26 Authorized Equipment List to include the purchase of a genie 42-foot working-height person lift for the new Walnut Park Library. The facility’s design features high ceilings throughout key areas, including the community room, study rooms, children's and adult and adult collections, indoor/outdoor children's spaces, and dedicated teen area, which will require regular maintenance at elevated heights. The addition of a 42-foot person lift is essential to ensure Building Craftmechanics can safely and effectively access elevated areas for routine maintenance, repairs and inspections. This amendment will support ongoing operational safety and facility upkeep as the new library opens to the public.
