Reason for Recommended Action/Background
According to the Welfare and Institutions Code, the Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) should deliver an annual report to the Yolo County Board of Supervisors.
The CAPC annual report will include a summary of ongoing activities, highlight the 2022 Child Abuse Prevention Month campaign, and provide recommendations related to supporting safe, stable and nurturing relationships through home visiting.

Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)
Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA) is the lead for the Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) in Yolo County. The CAPC is a program of YCCA, supported by YCCA staff. As the prevention of child abuse requires the involvement of the entire community, the CAPC includes 12 representatives from Child Welfare Services, the criminal justice system, the prevention and treatment services communities, and the larger community, including:

- CommuniCare Health Centers
- Community partner
- Empower Yolo
- First 5 Yolo
- Yolo County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
- Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency, Child Youth and Family Branch
