Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County Health and Human Services Agency’s Yolo Emergency Medical Services Agency is in the process of conducting a county-wide Request for Proposals (RFP) for Ambulance Transport Services. The current Ambulance Services Contract expires on February of 2024. This RFP has been created with input from staff, stakeholder workgroups, Fire Departments, EMS providers, hospitals and the County’s EMS Consultant, EndPoint EMS.
This item is being brought to the Board of Supervisors to present a high-level history of the current contract, the process to launch the RFP for the future contract and next steps in awarding this contract for Ambulance Transport Service prior to the initiation of this RFP. The presentation also provides key contractual changes between the existing contract and the proposed RFP.
The start date or the new Ambulance Transport Service Contract is March 01, 2024.
