Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The County Service Areas (CSAs) provide the following services to the communities it serves: water, sewer, landscaping, storm drainage and lighting services. The specific services that are provided to each CSA depends on the individual CSA's needs, and are approved via ballot proceedings by the community. In turn, the CSAs are financially supported by property-related fees charged on parcels within a service area. These charges have been previously approved by the Board pursuant to Article XIIIC and Article XIIID of the California Constitution (Proposition 218).
Annually, the County of Yolo requests the Board of Supervisors to authorize the collection of these charges on the County tax bill, including property-related fees, assessments and/or special taxes.
This action requests the Department of Financial Services to collect charges on the 2023-24 County tax bill, for the County Service Areas (CSAs) listed below.
