Recommended Action
Approve an accelerated merit step increase for a Departmental Human Resources Coordinator in the Department of Community Services from Step 2 to Step 4 for pay equity, effective March 12, 2023.

Fiscal Impact
There is no general fund fiscal impact as a result of this action.
Reason for Recommended Action/Background
Human Resources recommends the Board approve the request from the Department of Community Services to grant an accelerated merit step increase to Step 4 for Ron Hayes, Departmental Human Resources Coordinator, to ensure pay equity, effective March 12, 2023. The Board of Supervisors may adjust the salary of an incumbent to any step within the salary range in order to correct inequities, reward outstanding achievement and performance, or for other reasons acceptable to the Board. The accelerated step increase is being recommended to avoid any negative financial impacts on the incumbent, as Mr. Hayes is promoting from the class of Road Supervisor, where supervisors routinely work overtime to support the workload and participate in the stand-by process in case of emergencies. This action will result in a 10.2% increase for the incumbent.
