Reason for Recommended Action/Background
It is a best practice for any government entity to have in place a policy that clearly outlines expectations about employees engaging in additional employment arrangements while working for the County, either on a full or part-time basis. This policy aims to serve as an ethical compass for our employees and to avoid unnecessary conflicts of interest. The County has had advisory language regarding outside employment embedded in other policies for several years. Staff is now recommending the adoption of this stand-alone policy.
