Reason for Recommended Action/Background
The Yolo County District Attorney and Rural Community Assistance Corporation entered into a lease (Agreement #18-49) in March 2018. This agreement was amended on March 23, 2021 (Agreement #21-36) to extend the lease to February 29, 2024.
This space is used by the Consumer Fraud/Environmental Protection unit (CFEP). With a growing caseload, it became necessary to have a satelite office in the jurisdiction of West Sacramento. This space is still necessary as many cases required the attorneys to spend numerous hours in West Sacramento as it is a centralized location for defense attorneys as well as other county CFEP attorneys. This space is also a private location to hold depositions.
There is no general fund impact and the District Attorney anticipated the amendment to extend the original lease and cost were included in the DA's FY23/24 budget.
