Recommended Action

Waive second reading and adopt ordinance amending Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the Yolo County Code regarding emergency services.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background

This agenda item aims to update Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the Yolo County Code regarding emergency services. The ordinance updates the chapter to reflect the re-establishment of the Disaster Service Council and its membership. These changes will help ensure a whole community approach to emergency services and create a safer, more resilient Yolo County. The Yolo County Board of Supervisors reviewed this item for the first time on June 4, 2024, and continued it to June 25, 2024, for consideration for adoption.  Staff recommend approval.

Collaborations (including Board advisory groups and external partner agencies)

County Counsel approved the ordinance in its entirety. The updated ordinance was also shared with various stakeholders, including cities, special districts, and private and public partners. Stakeholders were offered the opportunity to provide comments, but none were received.
