Recommended Action
- Approve agreement with West Coast Arborists, Inc. for tree trimming services in an amount of $692,000 for a term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, with an option to extend this agreement for an additional three one-year options to extend the agreement with a maximum term of four years; and
- Authorize the Director of General Services or designee to sign work authorization for the following departments (General Services-Facilities, General Services-Parks, County Administrator's Office-Emergency Services, Department of Community Services-Roads and Natural Resources) up to the amount budgeted for fiscal year 2024-25.

Reason for Recommended Action/Background
On April 30, 2024, a request for proposal was advertised for on-call tree trimming and removal services. Seven responses were received on May 28, 2024, with West Coast Arborists, Inc. successfully earning the contract. The County contracts for tree trimming services to occur in county right-of-way, on/near county-maintained levees, within county parks and on county building sites. Historically, each department maintained their own small value contract with West Coast Arborists, Inc. The General Services Department developed a single master contract with West Coast Arborists, Inc. to consolidate all tree trimming needs of the departments. Approving this contract will allow the Director of General Services and Purchasing Agent to expediently process work orders without each work order needing Board approval.

Each department utilizes their own budgeted funds for tree-trimming services and allocates the cost on a project by project basis. No additional appropriations are requested to support this recommended action. Departments must demonstrate to the Procurement Division that they have sufficient appropriations for each project prior to allowing West Coast Arborists, Inc. to conduct the work.
