LAFCo Adopted a Strategic Work Plan for FYs 2025 and 2026 with the priority of "Ag Land Preservation Planning with Competing Housing and Climate Needs" including Action Step 6.1 to "Consider enhancements to how climate adaptation issues are addressed in MSRs".

The attachment outlines staff's recommended approach to augmenting our MSR template to ensure a robust conversation regarding how each agency is addressing climate adaptation needs, as applicable. Although the checklist updates (shown in track changes) are relatively minor, they will trigger a more detailed discussion regarding how each agency has prepared (or needs to prepare) for climate adaptation issues, which vary significantly depending on the services, infrastructure, and resources of each agency. In addition, staff developed an MSR appendix of resources to research data to respond to the pertinent climate issues in Yolo County: temperature, fire hazard, drought, and flood. Also included is a list of agencies who may be subject to these various climate issues.
