Approve 2016-17 department holiday closures.

For the past several years, staff has requested Board approval for select department closures during holiday periods when service demands are reduced.  Employees who choose to be off during the office closure must use available leave balances to cover their time off.

Following is a listing of the department requests for office closure which are in addition to the County holidays (November 24 and 25; December 26 and January 2):

Assessor-Clerk-Recorder-Elections
December 27 – 30: Assessor
December 23: Clerk-Recorder/Elections (close at 12:00 p.m.)

Community Services (except the Landfill)
December 27 – 30: Normal on-call emergency services will continue to be available

County Administrator (including Clerk of the Board)
December 27 – 30

County Counsel
December 27 – 30 (NOTE: Coverage of any court hearings will be arranged and pressing matters addressed)

Financial Services

Health and Human Services Agency:

December 23: All HHSA services (Note: 24-hour response for child and adult protective services, eligibility program applications, and temporary assistance to the homeless.)
