The Yolo Animal Services Planning Agency met on the 12th day of June, 2024, in the County Administrator's Conference Room, 625 Court Street, Room 202, Woodland, CA 95695. Here is a link to the video.

The clerk conducted roll call. Mayor Guerrero and Mayor Biasi were absent. Member Vega arrived late.

Public Comment: Opportunity for members of the public to address the Yolo Animal Services Planning Agency on subjects relating to YASPA business and not otherwise on the agenda. Speakers will be limited to 2 minutes (subject to change).
 


Eileen Samitz, Lea Rosenberg, Susan Gelber and Evelyn Dale addressed the Board during public comment.

The only item on the Consent Agenda was deferred to the next Yolo Animal Services Planning Agency meeting.

Receive update from local community-based organizations.
 


There were no updates.

 
7.
Receive Animal Services update.
 


Received Animal Shelter update. Stephanie Amato reported:
  • Status on how many cats and dogs are in the shelter
  • The Smitten for Kitten event was a huge success. 36 kittens and 5 dogs were adopted
  • Adoptions will begin at Pet Supplies Plus in Woodland on Sundays and other local organizations will host adoption events
  • The front office is fully staffed, 2 Animal Services Officer Trainees have been hired and there is 1 Registered Vet Tech vacant
  • HVAC/roof permits have been signed. Swamp coolers have been refreshed
  • Building 2A is moving forward. Seeking grants for medical equipment

Receive update on the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Budget

Received update on the Fiscal Year2024-25 Budget. Shelby Milliren, Chief Financial Officer, provided a detailed breakdown for each jurisdiction.

Consider amending the Yolo Animal Services Planning JPA meeting start time effective August 14, 2024.
