The Yolo Animal Services Planning Agency met on the 16th day of October, 2024, in the County Administrator's Conference Room, 625 Court Street, Room 202, Woodland, CA 95695. Here is a link to the video.

The Clerk conducted roll call, noting that Member Biasi and Member Vixie-Sandy were absent.

Public Comment: Opportunity for members of the public to address the Yolo Animal Services Planning Agency on subjects relating to YASPA business and not otherwise on the agenda. Speakers will be limited to 2 minutes (subject to change).
 


Gail Murtha, Eileen Samitz, Fran Bowman addressed the Board during Public Comment. Additionally, written comments from Evelyn Dale were read aloud and placed into the record.

Receive Animal Shelter update.
 


Lisa Gaines addressed the Board on this item.

Received Animal Shelter update. Stephanie Amato reported:
  • Stakeholder Working Group is in the ideas phase.
  • Provided update on Immunization event.
  • Twelve kittens were adopted at the Caturday event.
  • Growing Groves in Davis will be hosting adoption events.
  • Staffing update.

Receive update from local community-based organizations.
 


Eileen Samitz requested that the JPA meet every month. Sheila Allen announced that during the month of November, Mojo's would be hosting "Cocktails for a Cause" and Unleashing the Possibilities would be the beneficiary.

Receive update on the Animal Services Fee Study.

Laura Liddecot, Chief Budget Official, provided a presentation on the Animal Services Fee Study. This fee study will be presented to the Board of Supervisors for approval on December 3, 2024.

Review Yolo County Grand Jury responses approved by the Board of Supervisors at the September 10, 2024 meeting.

Discussed meeting frequency of the Yolo Animal Services Agency JPA meetings for the 2025 calendar year. Meetings are currently held every other month. Also discussed was the purpose of the JPA regarding the future of an Animal Shelter.
