Receive Animal Shelter update.
Received update from Director of Animal Services, Stephanie Amato, regarding the animal shelter's current population, Clinic in a Can, and upcoming events. Animal Services recently launched their new website: yoloshelter.org. |
7.
Receive presentation from Yolo County staff on forthcoming Operational JPA analysis and provide feedback.
Received presentation from Yen Nguyen, Associate Management Analyst with the Yolo County Administrator's Office. Previously, the Yolo County Board of Supervisors directed staff to conduct an analysis of operational JPAs. Yen presented on the preliminary findings of the JPA analysis, which includes an environmental scan of neighboring jurisdictions, a summary of the 2013 LAFCo study, potential governance models, and next steps, including a Request for Information (RFI). The Board members requested staff to incorporate in the analysis a review the LAFCo study, data on referenced cities/counties who implemented various JPA models, and costs of the governance models and potential cost savings. They also asked for a list of mandated animal services to be presented at the next JPA meeting. The Board clarified that a fully operational JPA will not directly lead to the funding and building of a new animal shelter facility. |
