Resolution - City Manager:
Consider a resolution ratifying the acts of the City Manager in executing an application for the Texas State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program.
Item Summary
Cybersecurity is one of the most serious threats faced by municipalities across the country. Through the Federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), Texas has allocated over $20 million in Fiscal Year 2023, for local governments to fund eligible cybersecurity projects. The City of Lubbock seeks grant funding from the Texas State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) for project Darktrace Cybersecurity Assessment and Evaluation. The Darktrace Software will assist in analyzing and identifying anomalies and threats to the network system.
Fiscal Impact
The total project cost in the grant application is $120,000, with $94,000 requested from the State of Texas in grant funding, and $24,000 in required matching funds from the City of Lubbock. The matching funds consist of $20,000 in-kind personnel costs and $4,000 cash.
