The Certified Local Governments is a program through the Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office focused on protecting and educating the public about the importance of our historic resources. This funding allows the Commission to complete projects and make updates to our historic documents. This is a grant that has a match of 60/40 with a total funding opportunity of $17,500. This means the City will match $7,000 to the State's $10,500. In 2025, our project will be to have Downtown Muskogee listed on the National Register of historic Places. This may take up to two-years to complete, but having the downtown listed on the register will provide new opportunities and incentives to revitalize and develop our Downtown |
