Proposed Motion: |
Move City Council approve Agreement No. PW2-988-4407, Amendment No. 1, with Artistic Land Management, Inc., for Public Works landscape services, in an amount not to exceed $1,071,500, for a one-year term, January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. |
Background/Discussion: |
Landscaping services are necessary to provide maintenance for numerous facilities which are managed by the Public Works & Utilities Department. These services ensure facilities are well-maintained and accessible for staff and residents. Well-landscaped areas also enhance the security aspects of City facilities and help deter crime on City-owned property. Services under this agreement will include weekly trash pickup, weed control, irrigation repair, mowing, pruning, trimming, and the spreading of decomposed granite, as needed. Approximately 453 acres of landscaped areas are to be maintained under this proposed agreement. Sites include the Pecos Surface Water Treatment Plant, Airport Water Reclamation Facility, Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility, Ocotillo Brine Reduction Facility, Recycling Solid Waste Collection Center, Paseo Vista former landfill, Utilities Administration buildings, and 70 well sites, booster stations, and reclaimed water turn-out facilities. |
Evaluation: |
On December 9, 2021, City Council approved Agreement No. PW2-988-4407, for Public Works landscape services with Artistic Land Management, Inc., for landscape services, for a one-year term, with the option of up to four (4) one-year extensions. The contractor has agreed to extend the agreement for a one-year period at the same terms and conditions and with a 5% price increase, citing cost increases in fuel and labor. Staff finds the request to be fair and reasonable. Staff recommends the extension of this agreement for the term of January 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023. This is the first extension of the original agreement. |
