To:

Thru:

From:

Subject:
Resolution No. 5641 Approving an Intergovernmental Agreement Between the City of Chandler and Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District for the Waterfluence Program
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council pass and adopt Resolution No. 5641 approving an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Chandler and Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District for the Waterfluence Program.
Background:
The City of Chandler is partnering with Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District (SRP) to offer the Waterfluence technology platform to non-residential landscape customers. This program supports Chandler's municipal water conservation goals as well as SRP's 2035 sustainability goal for water conservation. This software will be used to analyze historical water usage and develop a water budget for each site enrolled in the program. The customized water budget will identify areas of inefficiency and provide customers with aerial imagery and monthly reporting tools to develop more efficient water practices. The program goals include 50 registered participants in 2023, with an additional 25 participants each subsequent year. The Waterfluence Program will be made available to all non-residential large landscape customers in Chandler (both within SRP’s service area and outside of SRP’s service area). This agreement is not conditioned on where the site is located. SRP is willing to help fund water conservation efforts to help them meet their 2035 Sustainability Goals.
There is no cost to the City as part of this agreement. The term of the agreement is six (6) years from the effective date.
Financial Implications:
The Waterfluence Program will be made available to Chandler customers at no cost.
