Proposed Motion: |
Move City Council award Professional Services Agreement No. WW2005.203 to Dibble & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., for Chandler Boulevard – Dobson Road to Chippewa Place Water Improvements Design Services, in an amount not to exceed $349,502. |
Background/Discussion: |
The City’s Water Distribution Division currently maintains over 36,000 valves and 1,100 miles of pipe in the potable water system. This project is a continuation of a program to replace water mains that are susceptible to main breaks due to age and condition. The program evaluates water infrastructure, identifying high priority water mains in need of replacement. Replacement of City water mains will result in improved system reliability and reduced liability from water damage as a result of main breaks. The project scope of work includes design services for permitting and development of construction documents for the replacement of approximately 8,500 linear feet of water mains, ranging in size from 8 inches to 12 inches in diameter, located in Chandler Boulevard from the west side of the Dobson Road intersection to Chippewa Place. The design also includes replacing isolation valves, fire hydrants, water meters, and services. This project will be done in conjunction with the sewer improvements at the Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard intersection. On October 14, 2021, City Council awarded Professional Services Agreement No. WW2005.202 Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard Intersection Sewer Improvements to Dibble & Associates Consulting Engineers, Inc., dba Dibble Engineering, for the sewer design services. The project scope of work consists of project administration, field survey, preliminary research, utility coordination, geotechnical investigation, construction document preparation, cost estimates, and permitting assistance. The contract completion time is 400 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. |
