Resolution No. 5544 Authorizing a Grant Agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for the 2021 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Enhanced Rapid Response Fire Teams.
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council approve Resolution No. 5544, authorizing the City of Chandler to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) for the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Enhanced Rapid Response Fire Teams for Hazardous Materials meter maintenance, in the amount of $2,680, and authorizing the Fire Chief to implement provisions of the agreement.
Background:
In 2003, the City of Chandler established a Rapid Response Team with federal funding from the Arizona Homeland Security Grant. The 2021 Arizona Department of Homeland Security Grant award ensures that hazardous materials metering equipment utilized by the Rapid Response Team will be maintained to the highest standards to ensure proper operative performance for the safety of firefighters and citizens.

Move City Council approve Resolution No. 5544, authorizing the City of Chandler to enter into a Grant Agreement with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS) for the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Enhanced Rapid Response Fire Teams for Hazardous Materials meter maintenance, in the amount of $2,680, and authorizing the Chandler Fire Chief to implement provisions of the agreement.
Financial Implications:
This reimbursable grant does not require matching funds.
