Proposed Motion:

Move City Council approve the purchase of air handler system retrofit services, for the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley Chandler Compadres Branch, from MESA Energy Systems, Inc., dba EMCOR Services Arizona, utilizing the State of Arizona Contract No. CTR049764, in an amount not to exceed $614,840.

Background/Discussion:

The building occupied by the Boys and Girls Club of the Valley Chandler Compadres Branch, located at 300 E. Chandler Boulevard, is owned by the city. As part of the 2020 Building Condition Assessment, this building's Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) air handling system was identified as being at the end of its useful life. This agreement will allow the replacement/retrofit of all 32 HVAC rooftop units. Per the city's agreement with the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Valley, the city is responsible for repair and replacement of HVAC systems.

Evaluation:

The State of Arizona competitively solicited and awarded a contract to MESA Energy Systems, Inc., dba EMCOR Services Arizona, for HVAC maintenance, repair, and emergency services.  The City has a current agreement with the State of Arizona allowing for the use of its contracts.  The current term of the State of Arizona contract is valid through May 20, 2024.
