Thru:

From:

Subject:
Construction Services Contract No. ST1616.503, Project No. ST1616, with Salt River Project, for the Ocotillo Road Improvements - Gilbert Road to 148th Street
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council award Construction Services Contract No. 4215045, Project No. ST1616, to Salt River Project, for the Ocotillo Road Improvements - Gilbert Road to 148th Street, in an amount not to exceed $425,572.
Background/Discussion:
On July 13, 2017, City Council approved a design services contract for the Ocotillo Road Improvements from Gilbert Road to 148th Street. The project includes widening Ocotillo Road to four through lanes with added bike lanes. As part of the inital construction, Salt River Project (SRP) has to relocate its existing overhead lines. This agreement will allow SRP to design and construct the conversion of the existing overhead facilities to underground facilities along the north side of Ocotillo Road between 140th Street and Cobblestone Drive.
Evaluation:
SRP will be self-performing the associated work under Work Order No. T3127612. The City is required to reimburse SRP for the difference in associated costs between placing new overhead facilities and placing new underground facilities.
