Job Order Project Agreement No. ST1613.402, with Nesbitt Contracting Company, Inc., for the American Disabilities Act Project Upgrades, Phase II
Proposed Motion:
Move City Council award Job Order Project Agreement No. ST1613.402 to Nesbitt Contracting Company, Inc., Pursuant to Job Order Master Agreement No. JOC1907.401, for the American Disabilities Act Project Upgrades, Phase II, in an amount not to exceed $839,992.28.
Background/Discussion:
The Federal Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requires cities to complete a self-evaluation and transition plan that identifies and makes recommendations to correct programmatic, building, and infrastructure obstacles that prevent full access to City programs and services by individuals with disabilities.
This project removes the obstacles in the downtown area that were in the City’s 2015 ADA Self Evaluation and Transition Plan. The work will correct the ADA issues on Boston Street between Washington Street and Delaware Street, Washington Street between Boston Street and Chicago Street, and on Chicago Street between Washington Street and Delaware Street.
The project scope of work consists of removal and replacement of curb and gutter, valley gutter, ADA ramps, sidewalk, asphalt pavement, catch basins, pavers, and coordination with utility companies. The contract completion time is 120 calendar days following Notice to Proceed.
Evaluation:
The selection process was conducted in accordance with City policy and procedure and State law. The costs proposed for this project have been evaluated by staff and determined to be reasonable.
